Mompesson House 'Fruity Prints'

Had a lovely day in the lovely garden of Mompesson House. . . visitors of all ages made fruit-printed wrapping paper, gift tags etc. The most exciting fruit was the unripe figs from their tree; when cut longitudinally they revealed a cavity with frilly lining which, when printed looked just like a paisley motif. Is it the origin of the design?
